— Ask Box: Looking for an Interview

Anonymous asked:

AGES ago I remember reading an interview from either Jane, Eddy or Adam (I think it might have been Adam actually) where they spoke about True Love. It was about how there is only one true love but many loves. I need to find it - does anyone have any ideas? I def remember it existing but can’t locate it… I suppose it could have been twitter but I seem to remember reading something at length. Having that would help my epic angst over Milha/Rum.

Sorry anon, but I don’t recall reading a quote or interview like this. :(

If any of you do, please leave a link for anon. Thanks!

Jane Espenson: The theme of this episode actually changed in the writing of it, which is very unusual on this show. Normally, the guys know exactly what the episode's about, and you go in writing it, and it never changes. But this one started out being about "Rumple chooses power over love."
Jane Espenson: But then we realized during the writing of it, as I was going through drafts and talking to the guys about it, that that's what Rumple wants to think he's doing...? But really, it's about that he doesn't think he's lovable. Or worthy of love. It just kept getting deeper and deeper as we worked with it.
Robert Carlyle: From the net and through twitter, I get such beautiful comments from people, hinting that they love this episode so much because it's proof that they could be loved.
Robert Carlyle: You don't realize the scope these things actually have. The depth and the feeling that people have for this when they watch it. They identify with Rumple. They identify. They feel ugly. They don't feel loved. They don't feel wanted.
Robert Carlyle: It's amazing. I never expected that in a hundred years, that kind of reaction.
